TimeOut New York (Eating & Drinking-2000):
The best thing about 6th street's little India isn't even on 6th street. Located just around the corner, Haveli is better than the neighborhood deserves. Behind the shattered-on-purpose wall of glass, all the North Indian standards are above average-less greasy and more generously spiced-with only a moderate price jump. In addition to tandoori chicken and Saag panir (Indian's version of creamed spinach), you'll also find some less common items, like balti, a Northwestern Indian speciality of meat or vegetables, served in a bucket with tomato and coriander. The modern decor is tasteful and well lit (no Christmas lights on the premises!)
